Program Report For The Community Market Outreach Carried Out On 5th Of October, 2020

Emerald food and Nutrition Initiative (EmeraldFNI) organized a community market outreach in collaboration with Topak Agro Hub for the commemoration of International Day Of Awareness Of Food Loss And Food Waste (September 29th), and to also address the major needs of the market which is food safety and hygiene.

Bodija Market is a community market situated at Ibadan in Ibadan North local government Oyo state. Bodija Market is known to be one the biggest and most famous market in Nigeria with over thousands of people patronizing it within and outside the state. The market is majorly for food items, both in wholesales and for retailers. Household goods are also available in this market, and it is open throughout the week (Monday to Sunday) from morning to evening time.

Prior the day of the market outreach, a 3-man committee from EmeraldFNI paid an advocacy visit to Bodija market Association Executives; seeing the market association’s PRO, and the Iyaloja of Ibadan to gain their by in, and support for the intended outreach. The EmeraldFNI Team led; Mr. Taiwo Aladesanmi introduced the organization to the Market leaders, including the mission and vision of the organization and also the intended activity that is to be carried out. Checking through the calendar to see the feasible date for the outreach, the stakeholder agreed on Monday, 5th of October, 2020.
